EU and Competition Law

Orr Litchfield’s competition lawyers advise clients on a broad range of competition matters both nationally and internationally.

European competition law (and its equivalent in UK domestic law) is concerned with distortion of competition due to various forms of market abuse such as unfair pricing, the imposition of unreasonable contract terms and the exclusion of competitors. Typically these will arise from the actions of an entity which is dominant in a particular market or from market power exercised by groups through agreements or understandings between them.

Claims under competition law arise from many situations. Remedies include damages and fines or action by way of complaint to the European Commission.

We are able to use our in depth experience and knowledge of competition law and related legal issues to provide top quality, solution driven, practical and commercial advice to individuals, boards of directors, businesses and companies on a variety of competition law matters. We aim to provide clear and concise legal advice, often on complex issues of competition law, in ‘plain English’.
